The subject is focused on the presentation of the psychology for students of social sciences programmes, related interdisciplinary programmes, and other students who want to get an insight into contemporary psychological research and praxis. Attention is paid to the current shape of psychological science, including interdisciplinary perspective (e.g. its links to biology, sociology, medicine, philosophy, etc.). The main thematic areas are: (1) Psychology as a science, (2) Biological and evolutionary perspective of psychology, (3) Personality psychology, (4) Social psychology, and (5) Selected topics in psychology.
